Do you have any experience in (improvisational) theatre, and do you want to explore a more technical way of playing? Have you always wondered how actors and directors turn a piece of paper into a performance? This workshop is something for you!
You now have the opportunity to experience playing theatre by script in an international group. In this workshop participants will design a short play (5-10 minutes) in groups of 2 or 3 people. We will pass by different aspects of a classical form of theatre, such as: text-interpretation, character development, using the physical space etc.
This is also a chance to develop your own visions on theatre and to learn how to give feedback to others and to yourself.
We will gather on the 9th, 12th, 16th, 19th and the 23rd of June (Mondays & Fridays) from 19.00 to 21.00.
Four intensive workshops and one performance (23th of June) in which participants:
- Learn how to use their (improvisational) theatre skills in designing a play
- Practise reading and interpreting a script
- Use the directors feedback in your performance
- Create a short play with suspense and a climax
- Gain knowledge about theatre terms and strategies
- Increase personal acting skills and how to play together
- Show their final results to a public in a performance
The workshop will be facilitated by Marleen Kop, an EVS volunteer from the Netherlands. She started playing theatre at the age of 4 and gained a lot of experiences in acting and performances. After all her time spent in theatres, in the spotlight or in the public, she is addicted to telling and listening to stories. There are a lot of different ways to tell a story and Marleen is highly interested in finding and exploring them on the stage.
The workshops take place on the 9th, 12th, 16th, 19th and the 23rd of June (Mondays & Fridays) from 19.00 to 21.00.
It is a special and intensive program which includes a lot of practice together. That is why it is important to be able to come all the dates!
Together we will work towards the performance, open to public, on the 23rd of June.
The workshops will be held at Education Studio. The Studio is located on Tipografiei 1 street, Interphone 030, across Magazinul Central. You can find a picture HERE.
