You are interested in writing, but it is hard for you to create something from scratch? Are you reading fanfictions and want to try to write some yourself? Are you already writing fanfiction but want to find a local community in which you share your work and get feedback? Or do you just want to try new writing styles?

If your answer to at least one of this questions is yes, we would like to welcome you to a Fanfiction Writing Program! In this program we will use different fanfiction writing styles which will help you to express your ideas, fantasies, and thoughts. It does not matter if Fanfiction is something you have never heard about or you are not sure what it is about, this program is for everyone who is motivated to write!

The deadline will be on Wednesday, the 8th of March so make you sure you register before! There is a limited number of places, the people who register first will be given priority.

3 Months (March-June 2017)

10 weekly workshops in which participants:

  • practise their writing skills
  • improve creativity and flexibility in thinking
  • gain knowledge about fanfictions
  • write stories individually and in group work
  • get to know and try at least 5 different fanfiction writing styles
  • give and receive feedback to improve their writing skills

The workshops will be facilitated by Karin Danler, an EVS volunteer from Austria. She started writing fanfictions before she knew that she did, more than 7 years ago. Captured in the world of fanfictions she is also reading a lot of them. Karin likes to travel and experience new cultures, so she spent one year in Finland and is now here in Romania.

Strong points: highly motivated to share her knowledge, open to new ideas, has experience in working with different kinds of groups

“Fanfiction is what literature might look like if it were reinvented from scratch after a nuclear apocalypse by a band of brilliant pop-culture junkies trapped in a sealed bunker. They don’t do it for money. That’s not what it’s about. The writers write it and put it up online just for the satisfaction. They’re fans, but they’re not silent, couchbound consumers of media. The culture talks to them, and they talk back to the culture in its own language.”
